David Earl Crooks was born in Lincolnshire, England in 1977. His twin passions have always been art and science. After completing a phd in theoretical physics, he moved to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain to do postdoctorate research in String Theory. He then moved out of the world of physics to focus on his art. His work deals with themes such as the origin of life, the struggle for survival, reproduction, science, fantasy, existential vertigo, internal anatomy and the fragility of the human body.
